#$%^ 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D'
Tried to give 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D' another shot the other night. And I just couldn't stand it. For a show about a super-secret spy agency in the increasingly dangerous MARVEL cinematic universe it is so safe and middle of the road it's disgusting. I don't know about anyone else, but when it was announced I said "terrific!"a show about badass super-spies in cool jumpsuits kicking ass and risking everything on a weekly basis, "i am in!!!". And then we got this, this thing, and it is what it is. And isn't that a real tragedy. It's something that seems to be a problem with some of the MARVEL movies as well. The first THOR film is a train-wreck, pure garbage with few exceptions. Iron Man 2 is horribly unsteady and poorly done. The Incredible Hulk falls flat but also has some minor strengths. Iron Man 3 could've been a lot more but ultimately proves itself to be a better second movie than Iron Man 2. Thor 2 was a big step in the right direction for that franchise but still holds back just enough to keep itself down. And The Avengers, well, The Avengers was a solid pilot for a TV show. Iron Man and Captain America are still out in front as the best MARVEL movies. Although the finale of Iron Man isn't exactly great or even good. But the strength's of those two movies are that they don't give a $%^& about what you think of them, they go for it and hold little back. Whereas most of MARVEL's other films, and now this show, are more concerned with playing to the audience, or trying not to rock the boat too much.
