If you watched the Super Bowl yesterday, or jumped on the internet later on during the game, than you got our best look yet at the Avengers movie. Things are looking good so far, although there is still some negativity surrounding the footage. With some comparing it to a TV movie, because of the seeming lack of scale being presented. But it's early, I'm posting this in early February and the movie doesn't hit until early May. So there is plenty of time for MARVEL and Joss Whedon to finish whatever they've still got to go.
The spot itself, even in its extended version, doesn't show much but at the same time shows quite a bit. Mostly comprised of money shots and fill-ins it did what it needed to do and that was to make the largest television audience in America aware of the movie if they weren't already. We see glimpses of the threat to Earth, the various heroes in action and a glory shot of the team together. We also get our first real look at the Hulk, finally.
Of all of the characters being presented I'm actually most looking forward towards the interaction between Bruce Banner and Tony Stark. Two characters who in their various incarnations in the books have always been incredibly similar yet very different at the same time. Any moment that the two are around each other they give the feeling of being long lost brothers. And I can't wait to see how it's played in the movie. Beyond that more Nick Fury is always welcome in my book.
